Jak jsem objevila Plzeň …

Druhý pobyt v ČR

Pozitivní a přátelské, takový byl můj první osobní dojem z města Plzně.  Zářivé pastelové barvy jeho pamětihodností a monumentů, četné parky, které ho obklopují a řeka, to všechno dohromady dává městu jedinečnou pozitivní atmosféru. Podobně i obyvatelé města posílili při mém příjezdu tento příznivý dojem, především proto, že první lidé, se kterými jsem přišel do styku, projevili pochopení pro základní česká slova, která jsem je vyslovoval.

Dnes se nadšeně vracím a užívám si české město, ve kterém je zhruba tolik čajoven jako u nás ve Francii pekáren, stejně jako svobodu, s jakou si člověk může zajít sám na pivo nebo na oběd, aniž by v okolí vzbuzoval nepatřičný dojem osamělosti.

Později se můj dojem posunul do polohy překvapení. To především proto, že francouzský jazyk a kultura jsou v centru města dostatečně zastoupeny. Jsou tu francouzské krámky či kavárna a dokonce divadelní představení, které jsem navštívil hned o prvním víkendu, mělo ve scénáři francouzskou píseň a zazněla i francouzská slova. Na chvilku jsem se tak vrátil domů.

I přes předchozí dlouhodobý pobyt na Moravě mě stále dokážou pobavit některé typické scény každodenního života v České republice. Opuštěné dětské kočárky před obchody, typicky české techniky otvírání lahve piva bez otvíráku (obzvlášť pak ta o dveřní rám, kterou mě naučil vrátný na koleji) a malé vagony, které staví i na zastávkách široko daleko opuštěných; tyhle scény mi stále připomínají, že jsem právě tady.

Plzeň vypadá jako město lidských rozměrů rozprostřené v pravidelných čtvercových plochách budov a domů. Je menší než jihofrancouzské Marseille, Evropské hlavní město kultury 2013, ale to, co tohle město nabízí co do krásy, kultury a historie, vysvětluje, proč se pyšní titulem EHM pro rok 2015.

Samotná společnost PLZEŇ 2015 se podle mne snaží dát celé akci lidskou tvář. Mám pocit, že členové týmu jsou otevření a přístupní občanům města. Právě těm má tenhle velký projekt přinést nejvíc.

Líbilo by se mi žít v podobném městě a těšit se z něj. Prozatím si užívám procházení těžkými dveřmi do Černé věže a toho, že jsem alespoň na chvíli toho všeho součástí.

A second stay in the Cz

Positive and friendly was my first personal impression of the city. The pastel colour which covers its monuments, the numerous parks which surround it and the river passing through, all contribute in giving a unique positive atmosphere to the city. Similarly, considering that the first few persons I had been interacting with were receptive to the basic Czech words I pronounced, its inhabitants enriched this feeling at my arrival.

Today, I am very eager to enjoy and take the most of being back in a Czech city, where the Čajovna, are as numerous as could be our bakeries in France, and the liberty with which one can easily go for a beer or lunch on his own depriving oneself of the apprehension of transmitting a feeling of loneliness in the eyes of others.

Later on, my impression evolved to the one of Surprise. Indeed, part of the reason why is related to the fact that French language and culture is well represented in the city center. The French food shops are numerous and even a theatre performance where I have been the first week end included a French song and words in the script. It brought me home for a while, in a different scene.

Despite a previous long term stay in Moravia, I am still amused by some typical scenes of the everyday life in the Czech Republic. The abandonment of baby carriages outside shops, the typical Czech technics to open a bottle of beer without a bottle-opener (particularly the one in the door-frame, taught by the caretaker of the kolej) and the small carriages of trains which stop in the middle of nowhere; these scenes remind me that I am here.

Pilsen looks like a city of human scale spread in regular square spots of buildings and houses. It is smaller in comparison with the Southern French city Marseille, European Capital of Culture in 2013, but what the city has to offer in connection with its beauty, cultural and historical traits easily makes you understand why it is holding the title for 2015. 

My impression on the organization PILSEN 2015 itself, is that it strives to give a human figure to the event. I have the feeling that the team members make themselves available and open towards the inhabitants, the latter being the first to take advantage of the big project.

I would enjoy living in a similar city and dedicate my attention to it. As for now, I enjoy to go through the thick door of the black tower and be part of it for a while.
